<p>2 เม.ย.2567 ในการประชุมของสมาชิกวุฒิสภา มีการพิจารณาลงมติ ร่าง พ.ร.บ.แก้ไขเพิ่มเติมประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ (ฉบับที่ ..) พ.ศ. ....​ หรือ “พ.ร.บ.สมรสเท่าเทียม”</p>
<p>ทั้งนี้ในการอภิปรายของ สว.มีการเสนอให้กรรมาธิการ(กมธ.) วิสามัญ พิจารณาถึงเรื่องการเยียวยาผู้เสียสิทธิที่จะมีรวมถึงการคุ้มครองบุคคลที่ยึดถือตามหลักศาสนา ไปจนถึงมีการเสนอแก้ไขเพิ่มเติมเนื้อหาเรื่องอายุของการหมั้นเป็น 18 ปี และการสมรสเพิ่มเป็น 20 ปี  นอกจากนั้นยังมีการพูดถึงประเด็นสิทธิรับบุตรบุญธรรมที่ต้องคำนึงถึงวุฒิภาวะของคู่สมรสไปจนถึงการพิจารณาการอุ้มบุญที่ต้องรอบคอบ</p>

<p>หลังการอภิปราย พล.อ.สิงห์ศึก สิงห์ไพร รองประธานวุฒิสภาคนที่หนึ่งเปิดให้สมาชิกที่ประชุมลงมติว่าจะรับร่างหรือไม่ โดยผลการลงมติของ สว. มีเสียงเห็นด้วย 147 เสียง ไม่เห็นด้วย 4 เสียง และงดออกเสียง 7 ทำให้ร่างกฎหมายฉบับนี้ผ่านวาระ 1 ไปได้ ก่อนที่จะส่งให้ กมธ.พิจารณาต่อไปก่อนนำกลับเข้ารัฐสภาเพื่อพิจารณาวาระ 2 และ 3 ต่อไป</p>
