ครั้งหนึ่งท่านเว่ยหล่างไปพักค้างแรมที่บ้านหลังหนึ่ง ขณะที่กำลังจะนอนพักผ่อนในช่วงบ่าย
ได้ยินเสียงคนกำลังสวดมนต์ เลยลุกขึ้นไปถามผู้นั้นว่าเจ้าเข้าใจความหมายของบทที่สวดหรือเปล่า ?
บางตอนเข้าใจยากจริง ๆ ท่านเว่ยหล่างเลยอธิบายให้ฟังบางตอนของบทสวดว่า........................
เมื่อเราอยู่ในโลกแห่งมายาจอมปลอมนี้จนผมหงอกขาวหมดไปทั้งหัวแล้ว พวกเราต้องการอะไร?

หลังรับตำแหน่งต้องหนีภัยจากพระที่เป็นศิษย์พี่ไปอยู่ในป่ากับพรานป่า 15 ปี ถึงจะกลับมาในเมืองแล้วบวช
